Custom Design and Manufacturing

Lasersmith's Manufacturing, Research and Development Division will custom design a laser system to work for your specialized requirements.  For over a decade, Lasersmith's clients have been wowed over the development of difficult, challenging projects, such as a laser mounted to the back of a jet funny car for the Pinks television series, fiber optic laser drumsticks for the Red Hot Chili Peppers band, a custom laser marking system for the Federal Government and a wireless network safety system for an existing laser light show installation.  Our extensive knowledge of electronic circuit design, industrial automation, electromechanics, networking, in addition to over two decades of lasers and laser systems makes Lasersmith the obvious choice for turnkey development of your next project.

The laser show at the Grand Coulee Dam is the largest-scale laser show in existence, as it projects across the face of the dam greater than a mile long and taller than the Seattle Space Needle.  the laser system uses four "large frame" lasers, consisting of two Argon lasers for green and blue wavelengths, and two Krypton lasers for red wavelengths.  Combining all of this power, along with a wonderful story of the history of the region prior to, during and after the construction of the dam, this is one of the most brilliant, impressive laser shows and systems in existence.  In 2007, Lasersmith redesigned the digital playback system and in 2009, rebuilt the aging projection system.  Lasersmith has been involved with the Bureau of Reclamation for several years and currently holds the maintenance contract for the show at the dam.
